Pregnancy test confusion!!

Hi everyone,

After a miscarriage last year and a handful of chemical pregnancies I was over the moon to see a faint positive when I tested (early) at 10dpo! Being the peeing on a stick addict I am, I continued to test every day after, but the lines were getting fainter and my symptoms.. sore boobs etc started to disappear.

I admitted defeat for another month and awaited my period.. and 5 days later I was still waiting so took a test on a whim that I had in the cupboard and a dark positive came up straight away then the same 2 days later.

Does anyone have any experience of anything like this?! How can a test go from positive to completely negative to positive again. I want to believe it but the lack of any symptoms is stopping me from getting my hopes up.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

@Millie2121 first off congratulations! A positive is a positive after all.

There may be a better explanation but my guess is that it was just variations in tests, time of day and hydration on those early tests. The levels are so low in those early days that even small changes in hydration can make a line appear or disappear even on first morning tests. Add in variability in the tests (dip two in the same urine and they often look different) and what you describe could happen. Fingers crossed for this pregnancy!
