36 week scan showed baby was weighing 6lb 7 (and stomach measuring off the chart but diabetes test came back clear) I'm nearly 38 weeks and starting to panic about how big she's going to be. What do you all think if I make it to full term which I'm pretty sure I will xx

I was told half a pound a week for the last few weeks - so that means youd be an extra 2lb in another 4 weeks so 8lb 7oz.

Size isnt everything though, I had a 9lb6oz which I found really tough, then my second was almost 11lb and it was a breeze in comparison - so try not to panic about size.

I wouldn't worry too much. It's only an estimate. I could be wrong but I think it's half a pound weight gain from 36 weeks. I always found that the nurses and midwifes were closer to getting the weight right when they felt my stomach. Scans were not accurate.

For what it's worth on my first dd I was told she would weigh no more than 8lbs, 8lbs 7oz if I was I overdue. I was huge. She was born weighing 11lbs 10oz.

My friend was told she was having a very big baby, her son was 7lbs.

I had some scans at the end of pregnancy which estimated the weight to be around 6 and a half pounds but they said they had a 30% error margin!

I could have said that the baby was probably between 4 and 8 pounds with no scan!

depends on ethnicity.
a full time baby of an asian woman might 'only' be 2kg where a full time baby of a north european woman might be 4kg.

OP I had a growth scan at 36+5 and they said the weight was 6lb9oz, he was born at 38+2 and was 7lb7oz if that helps! They normally say baby will increase by around 0.5lb a week towards the end which seemed pretty much spot on for us!

Thank you ladies,
My first was born 6lb 8 so I must say I am sh*tting myself. When midwife felt my stomach she seems sure she will be around 7lb something but I suppose no one really knows till she's here. Wish me luck 🤣 xx
