I went to my 36 week growth scan and my consultant said baby's growth is starting to tail. He was 4 pounds 6 at 32 weeks . Now 6 pounds 1 at 36 weeks . I've to go back next week to check his growth again . If nothings improved I've to get a section . I'm only 21 and this is my first baby . I am so worried

Hi @csuvs6302

I don't think you need to worry, your baby is still growing at close to an average pace. However, your doctor has a fuller picture of your baby's growth over more time than I do and also is the medical professional.

To put it in context one of my twins slowed in growth from 24 weeks, he was 3 to 5 centile (meaning 95 to 97% of babies the same age were bigger than him) and still we made it to 37+2 and he was 5lbs 4oz at birth. There were just a lot more monitoring doppler scans every few days at the end

Your baby is exactly an average weight for 36 weeks
In my current pregnancy, the baby is measuring 5lbs11oz at 35wks+2 and she is slightly above average.

There might also be another reason consultant thinks it's time to take him early but if he comes at 37 weeks he still should be just fine.
