Overcooked chicken

Hi all,

I know this may sound silly but just wanted to put my mind at ease. I had chicken nuggets for dinner and I think I over cooked them abit. I saw brownish patches inside which got me worrying. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and worried that eating them would harm the baby. I'm feeling sick but don't know if that's just pregnancy sickness or from the chicken.

Could anyone reassure me.

You’ll be fine!! Really, chill.

Hoppinggreen · 17/01/2022 21:33

Overcooking chicken isn’t dangerous, you and baby will be fine

Undercooking is a problem, not overcooking.

ofwarren · 17/01/2022 21:34

Overcooked? Only undercooked is dangerous

smoocakes6 · 17/01/2022 21:47

All good . Absolutely nothing to worry about . Only undercooked meat is harmful. Get yourself a meat thermometer. 75 degrees for poultry and pork x

If they’re processed chicken nuggets, I think slightly over cooked is the least of it.

Haha please read up on what you can/can't eat when pregnant! Maybe Emily Oster's book would put you at ease? It's called expecting better

I recognise your username from a couple of other threads you've posted.
I say this with kindness- you seem to be suffering from quite high anxiety. It might be a good idea to go speak to your GP about any help or referrals that can be done to help provide you with coping strategies etc.
