Hi all,

After some advice as I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant. I got covid around the time I found out I was pregnant so approximately 4 weeks. I had a fever / cold symptoms & a cough.

I have been spotting non-stop so had an early scan at what I thought was 6+4. There was a pregnancy but no visible fetal pole & obviously no heart beat. I was booked in for a scan for two weeks later.

I have now had congestion and sneezing for a couple of days and have come down with another fever. I feel like complete shit. Covid test negative so must be something different.

All this illness is unlike me and I can't even recall the last time I had fever before all this. I'm starting to feel worried it's linked to the possible MMC etc but is that even possible?

Whatever is going on it can't be a good thing to basically be constantly Ill with fevers in early pregnancy but what can I do?

In pregnancy your immune is much lower (to ensure your body doesn't reject the embryo) and because of lockdown and social distancing we're also more likely to catch viruses now that we are exposed to these again. I have also been constantly ill during this pregnancy. I asked my recurring miscarriage clinic about fevers and they are only dangerous if you it's something linked to malaria or a really bad infection. You can just use paracetamol to keep it down. It's not nice though to feel ill and I hope you feel better soon. Hope your scan will show good progress. Take care x

Thanks for getting back to me. That's reassuring to hear. I can't remember being poorly at all in my previous pregnancy.

I think I'm just over reacting due to the emotional stress of waiting for the scan and wondering if something is wrong.

Going to try and rest and hopefully get better.

Thank you.
