Hi,

Tomorrow at 9:30am I have my antenatal appointment with the diabetic team for a 'diabetic medicine' appointment.

Any ideas what this is?

It's not my routine antenatal appointments as my next one is later in the week.

I am on insulin and I speak to the diabetic consultants 3 times a week on the phone, I've asked once what the appointment was for on Fridays call and the diabetic nurse said it was my 'exit plan'....

If you've been to a diabetic medicine appointment can you let me know what exactly you discuss and how long the appointment is?

I get my csection date next Monday with my high risk consultant, so I'm getting a bit confused with all the appointments coming up! I'm 35 weeks on Tuesday x

Update, incase anyone Google's this to find the answer. Just had my appointment, was in there less than 10 minutes!

It was a diabetic consultant and 2 midwifes, and they were going through my blood sugar results and planned out what medication I require the day of birth.

They've written in my maternity book that on the morning of my csection if my blood sugar levels are high then I must be put on an insulin iv, before having my csection, but otherwise it's not required 😊

Glad to hear it went well.

Here's to you being able to ditch insulin after the birth Flowers
