Ectopic pregnancy & Methotrexate.

Hi all,

Was diagnosed with an Ectopic last week as hormone levels are rising but womb is empty. They think they can see something at the back of my womb near my left ovary.
However images were poor.

My levels have been :

1362 - 7th jan

2017 - 9th jan

2900 - 11th jan

12th jan - first round of methotrexate ( 6 weeks 1 day pregnant)

3395 - 14th jan but they should have taken my bloods yesterday 15th they took them a day early :(

My day 7 is on Tuesday 18th , I'm just worried it's not working as I've had no real side effects apart from nausea day 2 and fatigue, I'm now on day 5 of methotrexate and had no bleeding or pain.

All I'm getting is the odd twinge / throb in my right ovary sometimes the left and that's it.

I'm really panicking as I do not want to have surgery

Can anyone pls help or share their experiences.

I’m sorry youre going through this. I had methotrexate too a very long time ago for an EP, I can’t remember the time scales. When are you next being seen?

Hi @Vintagedollie I'm so sorry about this. I had an ectopic pregnancy last year (also couldn't locate pregnancy) and had methotrexate and was bleeding within a few days (I think around 3 days later) and my levels completely dropped below 10 after around 9 days. My HCG levels were a lot lower than yours to begin with however. Please get back in touch to make sure they keep doing your bloods as you'll likely need another shot if it continues to rise. Try not to worry too much tho as if they can't see anything on ultrasound it's unlikely to rupture. Sending love. Xx
