Bleeding at 6 weeks

This is my first pregnancy, so I’m unsure what to do. I just found out on Monday that I’m pregnant, I worked out that I’m around 6 weeks however on Thursday evening I started to spot little bits of brown blood, resd that it was normal. So I left it but today (Friday) it has gotten heavier, less than a period but it’s bright red. I’ve not told anyone yet so I don’t have anyone to ask, I’ve not booked anything with the doctors yet either so I’m just really unsure about it all.

You can phone the EPU at your local hospital (as long as they take self-referals) and they will decide whether to offer you a scan or ask you to wait and take another pregnancy test first. It happened to me at 5w6d and they told me wait until the scan I already had sceduled at the IVF clinic at 7w. They also asked me questions about symptoms of ectopic pregancies and said to call back if the bleeding got heavy. You can also phone NHS 111 if the EPU is not open.

In my case it's all turned out OK so far. After an awful wait we saw a heartbeat at the 7w scan and everything is still going well at 13w.

I had bright red bleeding with pain and huge clots at 6 weeks that continued on and off for a fortnight, with a couple more bright red heavy bleeds in that time. IVF clinic said it could go either way, but nothing I could do except limit activity, drink loads of water and lie on my left until the bleeding g stopped. Turned out to be a haematoma and all still okay at 13 weeks today! I hope it all turns out okay for you - can you get a private scan if no EPU available?

I'm the same I was 6 weeks yesterday a tiny bit of spotting during the week and I woke up this morning to more spotting I've no cramps. It I'm freaking out a bit , I'm going to ring the Hospital and see what they say I'm not under the care of anyone yet normally not seen till 12 weeks for first scan . It's my first pregnancy so I'm at a complete loss
