Please someone answer!!

We was told at 30 weeks Baby and was measuring only 27 weeks

We had weekly monitoring and then at 33 week scan she was still measuring 3 weeks behind, but also detected my placenta wasn't working the way it should and that's why she isn't growing

All that was said to me is that it's unlikely I will go past 37 weeks, but it wasn't explained to me what the plan is just to come back in 2 weeks

This was 2 weeks ago and The next scan is in 3 days at 35 weeks. At my midwife appointment it was found she has dropped in size and is only measuring 30 weeks.

Is it possible they could induce/c section straight from my scan/that week as my placenta is obviously not working? Or will they leave it until 37 weeks?

It's causing me so much stress and anxiety I'm constantly monitoring her and making sure I'm laying properly and doing all these things to help her but she's just not growing.

Definitely ask to speak to consultant at your scan. I had this baby stopped growing at 32 weeks not picked up till 37 nothing done (was going to induce at 39) and was rushed in with pre eclampsia at 38 weeks told id been a ticking time bomb for weeks and that placenta wasnt working properly for weeks.

I would get 2nd and 3rd opinion if needed and ask for induction or c section and if baby is safer out than in. I feel I didnt demand this enough and wish I had.

Im so sorry youre going through this. Stay strong and dont leave until your happy with the outcome. Wishing you all the best op. 🤗

I had similar and my baby was born 6 weeks early. He’d dropped right off the bottom of the size chart. The consultant said to me that he was safer out than in and so he was born by c section. It would have been too risk to give birth to him. It was extraordinarily stressful. However, he’s fine now and healthy. Spent about a month in NICU getting big enough to feed and maintain body temp. If your baby is born early, then make sure you look at minimum weight of car seats for the journey home. The one I had didn’t fit and so I got a cybex aton which goes smaller than others. You can also get inserts these days I think

I had similar problems. I was also told I’d be induced at 37 weeks providing my doppler scans were normal and baby didn’t drop off her centile. I had a growth scan at 34 weeks and baby had indeed dropped, at a doppler scan a few days later blood flow to babies brain had started to decrease so I had steroid injections and they started inducing me at 35+5. Baby was born at 36 weeks weighing 1.6kg - scan at 34 weeks estimated 1.8kg so was even smaller than predicted. She was otherwise healthy, just a tiny dot. Only spent 1 week in hospital to establish feeding.

These things just happen sometimes. I tried everything to help her grow too but nothing worked. She’s now a feisty 20 month old and still tiny! Guess she was always meant to be small. Smile
