I just found out that l am 6 weeks pregnant, I haven't told anyone so I'm unsure what to do next. This is my first baby, and l don't want to wait too long.

Well, it all depends on what you want to do. We can’t decide that for you.

Are you happy/unhappy/shocked/scared? Are you in a relationship with the Dad?

Google referral to midwife and your local area.
In my area you self-refer to midwifery services by filling in an online form, they then contact you and give you a booking appointment and organise a scan for around 12 weeks.
Some areas still require you to go via your GP.

Other things to do:
Get some folic acid (or pregnancy vitamins) & start taking this ASAP.
Stop drinking and smoking if applicable.
NHS website has a list of a few foods to minimise / avoid.
Get your covid vaccine if you haven't already.

Congratulations!

There's not much to do right now. You can contact your GP and ask them what the process is for referring you to the local midwife team. Some GPs will refer you, in other places you can contact the midwife team direct. You won't have a first appointment for a while, it's often called the booking in appointment. You answer a whole heap of questions about your medical history and the midwife creates your pregnancy notes that get updated each appointment.

Well I'm sorry but I'm afraid you have to wait the standard 40 weeks... less the six you have completed. There is no other way really.

Is that what you meant ? It's a strange statement. Or are you unsure about going ahead and want to know about the termination process without 'waiting too long'... can you clarify what you mean .
