I’m posting because I’ve never seen anything like this 😂 but after looking closely at my 12 week scan it looks like baby is sticking it’s tongue out.. is that normal? The ultrasound tech didn’t say anything but I can’t stop looking at it haha.

😍😂 Blew my mind when I learnt that they swallow the amniotic fluid👅

Fleur405 · 12/01/2022 23:29

Yes my consultant pointed out my baby doing this at a scan yesterday and said she was swallowing the amniotic fluid. I think it’s why baby keeps getting the hiccups!

Eumy · 13/01/2022 07:22

At my most recent scan baby was licking the placenta

Eumy · 13/01/2022 07:24

Oops posted too soon!

I was going to add that our midwife said it was normal (and adorable!). Basically practicing for when they need to latch/swallow!

Yes, we saw our little one having a drink in our scan- I hadn't heard of it before!
itssquidstella · 13/01/2022 17:35

We saw our baby swallowing the fluid and sucking his thumb on our scan!

Derbee · 13/01/2022 17:42

So funny! Our baby looked like they were giving us the middle finger when we had a 3D scan!

ButFirstTea · 13/01/2022 22:04

We saw ours have a wee during a scan at 28 weeks, I was AMAZED

sarahc336 · 13/01/2022 22:08

We watch dd1 playing with the umbilical cord on one of our scans, she was bending it and pulling it 😂😂 it's mad what you can see in the scans these days xx

furbabymama87 · 13/01/2022 22:14

That's not the tongue, it's the baby's hand on the side of the face. If you look you can see the arm.

KurtWilde · 13/01/2022 22:15

DD1 was hiccuping during my 20 week scan with her. Tech said she was drinking the fluid

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 13/01/2022 22:21

That would be one big tongue on a small baby Grin

lovescaca · 13/01/2022 22:23

I have the same too ❤️❤️

justasking111 · 13/01/2022 22:41
