Covid Pfizer booster at 5 weeks pregnant

Hi Guys
I have done so much research on the internet and can't decide - is it ok to get my Pfizer booster at 5 weeks pregnant?

Has anyone on here had it?

A lot of articles say it is safe to get the jab at any point during the pregnancy but there are also a few articles which say that you should wait until second trimester - why would that be?

So confused about what to do!

I had it (also Pfizer)at just over 4 weeks, totally unaware I was pregnant. Now 37 weeks.

My doctor advised me not to get the booster until the second trimester. It's all very confusing, reading one thing and then hearing the opposite! Confused

Oh really ... I'm hoping no issues with the pregnancy as a result of getting the booster ?

Yes exactly!

The majority of the internet basically says go to get it done asap!

Did the doctor say why you should wait until second trimester?

the advice is to get vaccinated/get the booster.
advice so far is tat the risk of the vaccine by far outweighs the risk of covid infection on pregnancy complication.

get the booster

all the best!

I had my second dose (pfeizer) at 5 weeks and my booster 2 weeks ago at 26 weeks. Not a single issue! I also contracted COVID at about 5 weeks ago and barely had a symptom so, so glad I got the vaccines.

I had the booster at 4 weeks and was advised to, no problems x

Tempusfudgeit · 12/01/2022 16:27

I found out I was pregnant the same day I had my booster! I've actually (probably) got covid now and it's just like a cold. I'm sure the risk of full covid far outweighs any miniscule risk from the booster.

If your booster is due because its longer than 3 months since your 2nd jab dose then you should definitely go ahead and get the booster regardless of pregnancy or trimester.
The booster is safe at any gestation, covid is not!

I think it's a personal choice. My booster was due when I was 10 weeks near Christmas so it was easy choice for me to wait until 12 weeks. (Then they cancelled yday it so it'll be 13 weeks).
I didn't want anything to make me worry I'd upset the pregnancy but I am a worrier and my midwife didn't think it would matter.

Thanks for your support guys , I will get it done !

Ive had all three jabs since being pregnant. The first in June, would have been 2 weeks so didnt even know i was pregnant. Had my second in August at 11 weeks and just had my booster at 28 weeks. Im now 32 weeks and all seems fine 😊

Cakecakecheese · 13/01/2022 09:38

I had mine at 5 weeks as my IVF clinic advised me to have it.

Hi ladies,

I got the jab yesterday and today I'm getting such bad chills and body aches. I know these are standard side effects of the vaccine but I'm worried if this will affect the baby .

Any idea?
