Hi everyone, just a warning this post has some tmi info about spotting and discharge.
So, since finding out I was pregnant with DC2, I've had sporadic spotting. I was referred to epu over it and scanned at 6+1, which showed an apparently fine little bean, but the spotting continues. I'm now 7+5 and have noticed a pattern.
Basically, for 2-3 days, I have nothing, no spotting, no significant discharge. Then on the next day I start to get quite a bit of discharge. It is pale yellow with a sticky consistency and no odour. Then, after a few hours, there'll be a little bit of pink/red in the discharge. It's only ever a small amount and always mixed in with the discharge. Then it's gone and the cycle repeats.
What on earth is going on? I have no significant pain, the epu tested for signs of infection and found nothing, so what could it be?
I should add that I also had spotting/bleeding in my first pregnancy but it was quite a bit worse than this, being heavier and more constant. I also bled pretty much constantly before my first pregnancy while on combined pill, but didn't notice the same pattern.
I feel like the discharge and blood must be coming from my cervix rather than uterus, does that sound sensible? I'm concerned about this but not panicking due to experience with DC 1, just... Confused I guess, and a bit curious.
