Sore nipples!

Hi all

Random and probably too much info but I'm 17 weeks pregnant, in early pregnancy I had sore boobs for first 8 weeks but my nipples were fine.

But now I have really sore nipples, like really sore to touch! When I got a bath last night they were dry and flaky and just so sore. I'm sure it's hormone related getting me ready for baby but I'm panicked thinking if this is how much they hurt in pregnancy how will I cope with feeding! 🙈

I've bought some lanisoh nipple cream but even that doesn't seem to help really its just sticky.

I wonder if it's the material of the bras I'm wearing,

Can anyone recommend any new bras for pregnant mums or anything that might help?

Sorry to be so random!

Body butter? Bio oil? Keep moisturising!

I've got loads of body oil and moisturiser, but next day just seems back to same again! 🙈 I wonder if it's my bra material if no one else experiences this! 😂

Maybe they'll get better in time, mine were super sore & sensitive too, now at 31 weeks are back to normal to touch

Mine were really sore between about 14-17 weeks but have eased now at 19. I think they just go through phases of changing and growing. Hope it eases soon

Try not to worry, they don’t stay that way! I’ve had 2 DC and hideous sore nipples with both in first/second trimester at different times - in fact it was one of my first warning signs I was pregnant with DC2. But it does go and it was never an issue with feeding - I got the usual sore cracked nipples then which Lansinoh was great for at that point until everything adjusted, but it was a different issue so I’m not surprised it’s not working for you at the moment.

I found temperature was a big deal - very sensitive to cold, if my nipples got cold it was agony. So I wore very padded bras, soft as possible so do try different materials, and good under layers generally. On bad days if at home a hot water bottle to the boobs too!

Hopefully yours will settle down soon.

Thanks all

Sounds like I'm not on my own then thankfully! I'm moisturising like a trooper and hoping in a few weeks it'll be better. The cold and temp thing deffo affects it I think too!
