Hi everyone I'm 41 weeks with my second baby first I was induced at 38 weeks baby went into distress and I had a traumatic emergency c section

I'm hoping for a vbac and on Friday I went for a sweep I was only 1cm and cervix was still long she done what she could but couldnt do proper sweep
I'm being brought in tomorrow for the balloon

Has anyone had this and had it work really upset as I just want my natural birth and dont want to go through another section

So would love to hear peoples stories and how things went tia

I had this done... I took Gas and Air while it was being put in as I had found sweeps painful (when I was told they were just like a smear... definitley not for me). It wasnt too bad, just a little weird walking around after it with tubing coming out of you and taped to your leg!

Once in I had to stay in the hospital, I got mild contractions but not consistently and the midwife said the balloons main function is more a mechanical method of getting the cervix up to 2cm so that they can break your waters. Although the pressure on your cervix of the balloon can also kick-start labour it didn't for me, I ended up getting it taken out and put on the drip.

Good luck!
