Feeling like something is wrong @27 weeks

Had a scan shortly before Christmas which showed baby’s head and femurs were on the 5th percentile and her cerebellum was measuring 2 weeks behind. Her stomach measurements were totally normal and I think around the 50th percentile. Had a midwife visit yesterday who struggled to find baby’s heartbeat but did after about fifteen minutes.

I’m currently waiting for a consultant scan to recheck measurements but this has been delayed due to Christmas and New Years.

In my heart I feel like something is really wrong. Movements are good but my stomach has ballooned in the last 2 weeks (I have quite a small frame anyway) so had hoped this was a sign that baby was growing. Now I’m overthinking the fact it took her so long to find the HB. She must be really small surely?

Has anyone every experienced this? I just feel in my gut that something is wrong. Sad

On Monday you need to chase that consultant appointment or get it brought forward if possible. Maternal instinct counts for a lot. Really hope your baby is okay.

I’m so sorry you’re in this limbo state. I agree with @Squiff70 that you need to chase up the consultant appointment.

Natural to worry, it sounds positive though, you are feeling lots of movement and your stomach is expanding. Definitely chase up your appointment hopefully you will get the assurance you need. Good luck Flowers

I think it can sometimes take a while to find the heartbeat.
However, if you're worried push for getting checked out ASAP
I hope everything is OK.

Its so natural to worry hun. Can you call your maternity assessment unit and see if they can assess you and send you for an urgent same day scan? Most are open 7 days a week for women 22 weeks+ and the ultrasound dept Mon-Fri. Or see if they at least send off for some blood tests?
