Hey guys.
I had a miscarriage a few months ago and this is my second pregnancy. I'm 9.5 weeks and over the last few days not only have my pregnancy symptoms disappeared but I've developed a constant ache in my lower abdomen as well as through my lower back. It's not painful, just dull, but I'm terrified this is a sign that I'm going to have another miscarriage. Any help or comfort would be much appreciated. Thanks ladies xxxx

@JazzyM89 I just came across your post looking for reassurance because I'm experiencing the same thing. Loss of symptoms and lower back pain. I wondered what happened for you? My guess reading your message would be a miscarriage - which I guess is why no one replied, they didn't want to give false hope :(

I also had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in Feb, and another at 6 weeks in June..I'm 90% sure that's where this pregnancy is headed too, but it's horrid not knowing for sure..I guess I'm looking for hope, but I think I know in my gut I'm right!

Sending love x

I had a lot of aches and pains around the 9,10 and 11 week marks. They were never painful but would last for a few hours at a time. Not sure what they were but as I progressed they eased, I'm now 25 weeks and still occasionally get aches but now I think they are more due to the bump getting bigger... I think sometimes you can just get aches and discomfort and in the absence of bleeding or severe pain it's just a waiting game - sorry I can't be more help.

@rieb95 thanks, aches and pains are fine it's more the loss of symptoms coupled with cramps which tends, in my (ever growing) experience to spell bad news. I'm not out yet but I'm pretty sure I know where it's headed. It's a horrific process 💔

I had a loss of symptoms at 9+ weeks and was absolutely convinced I was having a miscarriage as these were the only symptoms with my last 2 miscarriages. I have had on and off back pain, lower abdominal pain and at one time the cramping was so intense I thought my uterus was going to fall. I had bleeding at 14wks which was terrifying. I’m now 18wks and I still have a few days of stretching pains on and off but baby is fine and I can feel it summersaulting in my tummy as I write this x

Tor88 · 05/10/2022 20:55

@Kcheey oh wow, congratulations that's amazing ❤️

I just feel exactly the same as I did before my last two miscarriages so I'm fairly sure, but I'd love to be wrong. Sudden complete lack of symptoms when they were really strong, and achey and crampy but in all the wrong placed (ie not uterine, lower down). If I am somehow miraculously wrong though I'll update this thread for future panickers! I have a reassurance scan next week so if I've not started bleeding at that point then I'll find out then I guess.

Thanks everyone for your replies 🥰 Appreciate it. I didn't even know Mumsnet at all a year ago, but it's provided so much advice and support through all this

I was at the early pregnancy unit at 9 wks prepared to hear ‘sorry no heart beat’ I just didn’t feel pregnant anymore all my sickness had gone and my boobs just didn’t hurt anymore. I felt exactly the same as my past 2 miscarriages when people were telling me I was just anxious, I knew something was wrong and I felt the same again, I was certain. When they told me there was a heart beat tbh I wasn’t even relieved and I didn’t even want to look at it on the screen. I was so convinced I was going to miscarriage I just wanted it over and done with. The waiting is torturous. I hope you get the best outcome but if the worse happens I wish you strength and healing xx

@Kcheey thank you so much 🧡 that's exactly how I feel, like I just know and what it to hurry up..I'm just so grateful it's so early this time, my 9 week miscarriage was just horrendous. Your story does give me some hope though as I still haven't started spotting or anything. Every now and then I get a small blip of nausea and I feel hopeful. But I remind myself that the same thing happened before my last miscarriage, all the symptoms went and then every now and then you'd get a small taster and feel hopeful again, then they'd go straight away. God it's all a LOT isn't it. I'm glad it worked out for you in the end xx

@Tor88 I've had 3 miscarriages too... and currently 8 weeks pregnant. I have a lot of sickness at the moment but the midwife told me yesterday when I went for an early scan that my symptoms might start to disappear at 9 weeks as the hormone levels start to come down.

Are you not having early scans because of previous miscarriages? I was offered a scan every 2 weeks for peace of mind. xx

Tor88 · 06/10/2022 09:52

@sjmco I will be for my next pregnancy I think (as the next one would be no 4). This is no 3, after some pushing I've been offered one early scan to just check it's not eptopic (I have a much higher risk because of severe endo), but other than that just the 12 weeks. That's so interesting I was always told it peaks around 9 weeks? And placenta takes over after week 10? I remember googling all this obsessively after my symptoms stopped at 9 weeks in my first pg, but that bad news sadly.

Wishing you so so much luck for this pregnancy. 3 miscarriages is just awful, I really hope this is your sticky bean!!

sjmco · 06/10/2022 16:21

@Tor88 Oh that's good! At least you managed to get an early scan... I think if I wasn't offered I would of had to take one private as I wouldn't be able to wait and wonder. It's so nerve racking ain't it!!

Ohh that is weird... to be honest I was surprised when she said that as I've always known it to be quite strong until around 12 weeks...
although I'm feeling awful with nausea and vomiting I don't mind it as it's kinda reassuring me that everything is ok if that makes sense.

Thank you so much!! I hope so for you too xxx

Kcheey · 06/10/2022 18:27

Remember that you can’t be 💯 on your weeks. I also believed that week 9 was the worse for morning sickness so was worried when it subsided, turns out I was a week further then I originally thought even though I had a early scan. Which is why dating scan is done at 12wks as this is the most accurate

Sassy144 · 07/10/2022 05:29

@Tor88 I had loss of symptoms around 7/8 weeks and also had fairly uncomfortable cramping in tummy and lower back. Had a miscarriage previously at 6 weeks so feared the worst of course, got a private scan and all was well ❤️ the cramps continued on and off throughout early pregnancy and they were just growing pains. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and baby is keeping me awake kicking me!

I know it's hard not to think the worst but I really hope it all goes well for you this time xxx
