I want to request an induction but I don’t know what my chances are.
Basically I get precipitous labour. My first baby was born in around 4 hours and then my second I was induced and it was recorded at 17 minutes. With my second I also had a pph.
Due to these reasons I’ve been quite concerned about getting to the hospital in time as it’s about a 25 minute drive away and as neither me or dh drive my mum was going to be taking me. So added time for her to get here etc!
I was already hoping for an induction for the above reasons and made that known to both my consultant and the midwife. The consultant said we can discuss it closer to the time and the midwife said they normally only induce for medical reasons and she doesn’t know what they will say.
However now everything’s gone to pot and I’m 38 weeks and panicking. My mum has found out today that she needs emergency surgery on her eye tomorrow and therefore will not be able to drive for up to 6 weeks. Obviously this can’t be helped. I have nobody who could take me to hospital and while I’m ok with getting a taxi the wait times at the minute can be well over an hour.
I’m terrified I’m going to go into labour at home and then have another pph. It’s causing me massive amounts of anxiety. I have a consultant appointment and growth scan on Monday and I’m praying they will agree to it.
