Hi all ,

I'm really hoping someone can help me on this that maybe has more knowledge.

I recently moved into a property on the 01/12/21
And have just discovered I am 5 weeks pregnant.

This is a private tenancy and after having a read of my agreement I have seen it says "the number of people occupying the premises will not exceed two persons at any one time"*
*
So obviously I haven't even told my landlord yet as I have been in this little happy bubble but now realising I may not be able to live here anymore?
Surely you can't throw people out in the street?

Can someone please advise me? 😭

You don't need to do anything until much further along in your pregnancy so don't let this stress you out, but probably worth seeing what advice the citizens advice bureau have on this

It's probably more about not subletting than forbidding you to have a baby!
Providing you are still paying the rent I doubt your landlord will mind. Have a word with Shelter or a CAB to check your rights first?

That kind of clause is usually about subletting or adults only, so almost certainly won't apply to a baby or small child. In some places it's because of rules about having properties in multiple occupation or about council tax or insurance.

You could ask CAB or Shelter to look over your tenancy agreement to check.
