20 week scan question!

Hi,

Those of you who have had a 20 week scan, did you have a midwife appointment booked in straight after the scan?

After the 12 week scan I had an appointment straight after for the screening test, but just wondering if I should be expecting an appointment for the 20 week as well?

Thanks!

No appointment unless something comes up on the scan

I didn’t have a midwife appointment after the 20 week scan. I had my scan, then went into another room for my flu jab and whooping cough vaccine (one in each arm). Then normal midwife appointment at 25 weeks

Nope!

They told me they couldn't discuss anything with me during the scan, and that it would take a very long time and not to be worried that they aren't talking during the scan.

After the scan they handed me a report and told me to put it in my folder. That was literally it.

I ended up having to read and google what the report said to understand what it meant which is so frustrating!

I did but it was just bloods and stuff and unrelated to the scan

My advice is just lie back and close your eyes and relax in the scan. I end up staring at their face trying to decipher the meaning and assuming every frown means something terrible instead of them literally just concentrating and doing their job.

Yes! I had an appointment straight after, the midwife talked me through some of the results, any questions I had, took my blood pressure and gave me my whooping cough vaccine.

Next app is 25 weeks which I believe is with the community midwife.
