If I stand too long (like five minutes) my legs to numb? Anyone else ever had this? 37 weeks pregnant, how summer here in New Zealand and am even more useless now that I've discovered I can't stand for long periods. Anyone else had this issue?

OOOh yes... i remember this. I got it from about 28 weeks with first pregnancy. I got it from about 14 weeks with second pregnancy.

It was a sort of deadness in one big patch at the top inside of my right thigh. I found standing on left leg with my right leg raised (like a stork) eased it a bit. Sometimes it used to burn or feel pins and needles like.

First time it went away as soon as I gave birth.

Second time it took a week or two to go off after birth.

I now find it comes on again but more mildly if I put any weight on.

I get numbness in my legs & feet but that is due to pernicious anaemia. It may be worth getting you B12 levels checked by midwife, as some women do develop pernicious anaemia in pregnancy. Also, have you got varicous veins they may cause aching & numbness. Good luck, not long now, I'm not far behind you, I'm 31 weeks now.

No varicous veins... (thank goodness) also started getting headaches every day. So think might call the midwife today just to check it out. But no swelling in hands or feet so that's a relief. Good idea about B12 thanks for that.
Will try some stork exercises too.
