Firstly, I have no idea what all the acronyms are which are used here. Please bear with me!

I am now pregnant after a missed miscarriage, however, I noticed I ovulated a lot later than I usually would. Typically it would be very close to my period, however this time it was mid-month.

I am tracking on the Flo app, however I am unsure of how to calculate. If I go by the date of conception we would be 3 weeks, however on the app 3 weeks (today) says it's the time of implantation, which I know has already happened as I had light bleeding about two weeks ago...

Any recommendation on what date to go by? Is it last period or is it conception? Pregnancy tests were 1-2 weeks and this week have gone up to 2-3 weeks... are they more accurate?!

Just thinking for planning and scans etc. confused!

Hello, and congratulations :)

In my experience you should go from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Even if you know that's not a good reflection of your cycle (it wasn't for me as I ovulate on day 30!). The LMP is what the midwife will use and then any discrepnacy will be worked out when they do the dating at your 12 week scan.

With me, because they used LMP not my later ovulation date my 12 week scan was booked in for 10w and 3 days. Once they realised they just asked me to come back in a couple of weeks.

The maternity unit will go by your LMP until your dating scan where your due date will be decided based on measurements. If your ovulation date was significantly out of whack to your usual time, then what you can do is tell them your period started 2 weeks before you ovulated and they will calculate it from that, or you can say you have no idea and they may do an early scan.

Pregnancies are always dated as 40 weeks from last period, so if weeks indicator test tells you you're 1-2 weeks (from conception) "officially" that means you're 3-4 weeks pregnant. So if your ovulation was 3 weeks ago, then you'll be roughly 5 weeks pregnant now :)

Thanks so much!! I just really don’t want to go through any stress of going for an early scan (which I will do for peace of mind) and it be inaccurate or cause any stress if that makes sense. “We can’t see anything”

It was a heart breaking situation before x
