So me and my husband have been trying for a baby for nearly a year now.. we are due to go to Mexico in a few weeks and I'm now getting paranoid about continuing to try because of the Zika virus, I know there haven't been any outbreaks recently I just wondered if what peoples views were and if anyone has travelled somewhere that did have a previous outbreak while pregnant/trying to convince

Thank you so much

The site I linked to above was recommended for more info on the gov.uk travel advice page : www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/mexico/health

Well the continental US has also had previous outbreaks so that in itself wouldn’t bother me… I think the issue with Mexico is that outbreaks may take time to be detected and wouldn’t necessarily be reported immediately so you can’t accurately determine the current risk level. If it were me, I’d either go elsewhere or use protection for 3 months- this was the advice given to me by my OBGYN when I went in 2020 and I’d stand by it today because it’s just not worth the risk.

Thanks guys, you are right it isn't worth the risk, it's going to feel so strange going from trying to not 🙈 slightly gutted that I booked it now, it's for my husbands 30th. Well in three months, we try again! X
