Was wondering if anyone had any advice . Currently 30 weeks pregnant have had one jab in November and had COVID over Christmas. I have second jab booked in for end January but was wondering if this was safe as it is a 'new ' variant if it was omicron which I had which I presume it was - would they have tested this ?also does having one variant protect you against another ? Very confusing ! Many thanks

The safety of the jab doesn't depend on what 'type' of covid you had, if that's what you're asking?

Yes was wondering if it made a difference considering omicron is a new strain and guessing all their safety data is based on alpha or delta

The safety data depends on the jab itself, rather than the variant it's protecting you against, and that hasn't changed. The effectiveness of the jab might change depending on the variant, but they still think the existing jabs give some good protection against omicron.

Yep agree with @mumofmunchkin, the jab safety doesn't depend on what variants are about and definitely you still have more protection being double jabbed than not so definitely still worth getting when enough time has elapsed since you caught covid the first time.

Ok thank you for your replies I was just concerned about about worse side effects etc - such a mind field!
