Happy ending/healthy pregnancy after ectopic

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my happy ending after going through an ectopic. My last pregnancy started in August and ended in early October as I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had expectant management as it was very small in my tube, so there was no damage caused etc. I waited for my period to come back, which came back about 4 weeks after my HCG was right down.

We tried again the first time I ovulated after my period came back, and we got pregnant again. I know we're super lucky for it to happen so quickly, and we aren't taking this for granted at all. I feel so grateful and blessed for that. We went for a scan at 8 weeks 1 day (based on ovulation not last period, as I ovulated a bit early)... and we saw our baby in the uterus with a heartbeat, measuring 8 weeks 1 day. It was the biggest relief. I'm currently 9 weeks 1 day, and have my booking appointment tomorrow. Then looking forward to the 12 week scan in a few weeks.

I read so so so many messages/threads on here to learn about all the positive stories of everything working out for people after having an ectopic. The ectopic was our first pregnancy too, so it was such a shock. But everything has worked out now. There were a few times I had to stop myself overthinking things, like when I had diarrhea, I rang the EPU to check and they said they never even link diarrhea to ectopics. It turned out to be overflow diarrhea due to really bad constipation.

Until we had the early scan, I wasn't connecting with the pregnancy in the same way I did with our first in the early weeks. It's a relief to be able to fully be excited now, as I know when you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks it's a very very high chance that everything will continue to go well.

I hope this can bring some hope to anyone who might be going through an ectopic like I did, it's the worst thing in the world at the time, but please know and have faith that things will work out! I promise they will.

Sending lots of love and positive vibes to everyone xxxxx

Hi @TianaC i just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I know it was a few months ago now but this sounds identical to my situation, expect I had to have my tube removed also.

I and now expecting again although it terrifies me to say it out loud. I am waiting on a scan at 6.5 weeks. I hope I can do the same as you and post my posting story so that it can help others as that’s all I am doing just now, searching for positive stories.
