Lightning Crotch- sign of Labour?

39+1 and having lots of lightning crotch for a few days now. Any hope this could be the beginnings of something or am I being too hopeful? No other signs apart from pubic bone pain Hmm

Anyone went into labour soon after the pelvic pains ramping up? Don't feel tightening or contractions as far as I can tell (FTM). Baby has dropped this last week or so.

Hey, sorry you didn’t get any responses to this! Just wondering how you’re getting on as I’m 37 weeks and have been getting lightning crotch today - at least I think that’s what it is - intermittent sharp sudden pain at the front and side of my pelvis. No other symptoms or issues though.

Hope you’re ok!

I had lightening crotch for a good few weeks in the lead up to my induction last time I was pregnant. I mean, you’re very close to the end so it will be soon! But I can’t say that in my experience it means it’s a sign of labour.

If anything it's all calmed down again Hmm Think an induction is likely at this rate! Confused

I've been getting lightning crotch (shooting pains down in my lady bits) for a few weeks now. Also loads of pelvic pressure. I'm overdue now and still no sign of baby, but we're near to the end.

I'd relax, enjoy the last few days/weeks of pregnancy and stop wondering if every new symptom is a sign of labour. I've done this since about 37 weeks and I bet DH was starting to think that I was getting boring! Haha. Spent the last couple of days reading, napping, eating all of the snacks and trying to be more laid back about whether or not baby will arrive today. I'm still dropping a few drops of Clary sage into my baths and massaging my accupressure points, etc but I'm not thinking I need to do this to get this baby out of me.

Good luck!
