Carrying high

Currently 16 weeks with second pregnancy and feel like I'm carrying so high, like top of bump seems hard and bottom of belly (have a bit of an apron belly as two pregnancies quite close together, we'll close enough for me to use that as an excuse anyway) feels much emptier/softer. Have had 3 scans so far that all show healthy pregnancy and no issues picked up etc, just wondering how did people carry differently in their second or subsequent pregnancies. I don't feel bigger as such just higher 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m almost 34 weeks with my second child. My 1st was a girl and this one is a boy. He is loads higher up than my daughter was. The bottom of my tummy is still squishy and hasn’t “filled out”, but the top of my bump is so hard and high. I’ve really struggled in this pregnancy with breathlessness and exhaustion which I think could be because my lungs don’t have as much space to expand. With my daughter I felt much bigger and my hips, pelvis and back really hurt and I waddled really bad. This time I feel much more mobile as he doesn’t seem to be low down in my hips but I just can’t bloody breath!

That's so weird @DoG87 I had a girl last and I had PGP my hips were agony and so far (touch wood) I have definately had more breathlessness than hip problems! So similar to what you have said. It's a bizarre feeling I could swear this one is up in my ribs but when they scan me they're scanning below my belly button 🤷🏽‍♀️🤣

Same here! All scans are below or around my belly button & when they check his heart beat it’s always low down, but I’m certain he’s up in my ribs. Well it feels like he is anyway

Maybe I will stay this way and go on like you are then @DoG87 it's just so different to last time, the hip pain was horrific but tbf not being able to breathe for 9 months doesn't sound much fun either 😭🤣

Snap! I’m also 16 weeks and the same (and the bottom belly hehe). I’m 5 years later though and just ate and drank a lot in lockdown 😂

@BonkMyPop mine really aren't close enough for me to not have lost it but we're going with it 🤣 my little girl was 12 months when I got caught so I did have a year 🤣 I knew I wanted another though so thought what's the point I'll do it after both! How weird about our bottoms bellies not filling out though 🤔

Don’t even worry about it, post pregnancy bellies are battle scars to be the most proud of 😊
