Hi all,

I am a first time mom to be and very confused on what should I buy for my baby's travel?

I know I will need a car seat to bring her home but then seeing and speaking to one of my friend has confused me.

Does travel system include group 0 to 3?

What is all sort of options in market and which is practical - I don't want to buy too much and then not being able to use and at the same time I want something for long run

Thank you for all your help in advance xx

The travel system that we ordered included the cybex cloud z with isofix, which goes up to age 18 months/13 kgs. I think most travel systems only include “baby” car seats, you then have to upgrade as baby gets older but if you opt for the isofix base, you don’t have to change the base only the seat iyswim.

Travel systems include adaptors and a suitable car seat that can be attached to the buggy chassis. People rave about this being amazing but it was pointless for us. Across two babies I used the adaptors once ever.

If I had my time again I would skip the newborn car seat and go straight to the Joie360 with newborn insert and get a buggy totally unrelated to the car seat.

Personally I loved having the travel system where you could put the carry cot on or using adapters the infant car seat and then later the toddler seat, you can get bundles that include all of these.

My son came out of his infant car seat at 13 months, lots of people think they've grown out of them earlier than they have as they don't realise you should pull the baby nappy down to buckle when it looks like they've run out of room...providing they don't exceed the weight limit.

I liked being able to click the car seat onto the pram to pop into the shops or even put it in the trolley without taking baby out and swapping over but it's all personal preference as some people don't see the point. Annoyingly you probably won't know until you have baby!
