I have PCOS, very irregular periods, sometimes only a couple a year, its CD122, normal for me but bordering on not. Did an internet cheapie - saw that.

Did a clearblue - is that what they call a dye stealer?

Is this indicative of how far pregnant I am? I've never seen such a dark internet cheap test! Even with my previous pregnancy I never saw it that dark!

Oh wow they are dark. I'm not sure if that indicates how far along you are. Hopefully you will get a scan quite quickly as you are on cd122.
Hopefully someone else will be along who knows more for you.

NelliePig · 31/12/2021 14:10

Don't freak out! Mine was super dark and I was only a couple weeks I just grabbed some folic acid now and a clear blue digital, they show 1 week to up to 4 weeks plus.

NelliePig · 31/12/2021 14:11

Of course it's likely yours will show 4 weeks plus, but it might not! X

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 31/12/2021 14:12

I had tests that dark on the day my period was due for both pregnancies.

Sunshinegirl82 · 31/12/2021 14:16

I wouldn't read too much into it yet, until you have a scan you can't really know.

A digital clear blue with weeks indicator might give some indication although I obviously wouldn't take it as gospel! Your GP should refer you for a scan straight away if you're unsure of your dates. I'd give them a call asap.

Congratulations!

Idontlikeworms · 31/12/2021 14:17

My friends were very dark with Twins.

fullofpips · 31/12/2021 14:19

They actually say that they get lighter the further along you are, so I wouldn't read too much into it 😊

Alfixn · 31/12/2021 14:19

I have suspected PCOS and very irregular periods too OP, my test looked like that at what later turned out to be 5 weeks pregnant.
I also had no idea how far along I was thanks to my unpredictable cycles, but a Clearblue weeks indicator test said 2-3 weeks, equivalent to 4-5 weeks on a dating scan - so fairly accurate!
Best of luck with everything!

fullofpips · 31/12/2021 14:19

Oh and congratulations!

Alfixn · 31/12/2021 14:20

Also, mine turned positive immediately - literally as I set the test down - but it was only one baby, if that puts your mind at rest!! Grin

fibeee · 31/12/2021 14:40

Not necessarily OP. I had an immediate and dark result when pregnant with DD and I was about 5 weeks.

soughsigh · 31/12/2021 14:51

I think I got dye stealers at around 5 weeks? Then they can go lighter but I stopped testing. I'm sure they will get you in for a dating scan ASAP at CD122.

Congrats if this is a wanted pregnancy!

Lauren0902 · 31/12/2021 14:55

I also have PCOS and had a very dark line, I convinced myself it was twins or I was really far gone. It turns out I was only 4 weeks Smile

czycoup · 31/12/2021 15:18

I got a dye stealer at 5 weeks. They can get lighter the further along you are due to the hook effect (where too much pregnancy hormone overwhelms the test).

I wouldn't say these tests are indicative of how far along you are. Only a scan or something can tell you for sure.

I have PCOS and cycles as long as yours. When I've been pregnant in the past they still counted from the last day of my period. So I've had "12 week" scans at 4 weeks before. If you are cycle day 122 they may assume you are 17 weeks and get you in for an scan as soon as they can (if they work the same way as my trust).

Congratulations Thanks

CheeseCrackersAndChutney · 31/12/2021 15:45

Mine went dark straight away too - I was nearly 8 weeks 😂

sarahc336 · 31/12/2021 15:50

I had tears that dark at 5 weeks, inwas only testing as i was late (not ttc) and the line appeared that dark straight away Smile

roseblosssom · 31/12/2021 16:32

On cd 122 you could be as far as 17 weeks- obviously could be less with pcos and irregular ovulation. I'm sure they'll scan you ASAP.
