Having booster during pregnancy

Hi all. I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and have my COVID booster jab today. I had my 12 week scan yesterday and baby was perfect.

I have heard so many horror stories about unvaccinated pregnant women becoming very ill or even dying from COVID, so I'm confident in my decision. But I must admit there is still some fear there!

Did anyone else have a booster jab while pregnant?

Had it a couple of weeks ago at 16 weeks pregnant. Baby is now kicking away, and I didn’t have any problems from it.

Yep had my booster 4 weeks ago when I was approx 30 weeks.
Baby now still wriggling away and ready for delivery next month :)

I had one at 5 weeks on the advice of my IVF clinic. 7 week scan was fine.

Yep had mine about 10 days ago at 13.5 weeks. Slightly sore arm but nothing else! Had my NT scan a couple of days later and all good.

I haven't had my booster yet but had 1st and second jab during pregnancy and seems to be no issues

MsSquiz · 30/12/2021 14:35

I had my booster on December 21st and I was 22 weeks pregnant.
Everything has been fine, other than an aching arm for a couple of days.

Derbee · 30/12/2021 14:37

Yes, had it at 26 weeks. Everything fine, and the vaccination centre was full of pregnant women!

Imohsotired · 30/12/2021 14:37

Id mine at 20ish weeks and all good thankfully

zeena83 · 30/12/2021 14:45

Welshcake15 · 30/12/2021 16:09

Had booster at 30 weeks. I had minimal side effects and everything is going really well!

Steamedhams · 30/12/2021 20:45

I had my second dose at 6 weeks pg and am now due a booster. In no way am I anti vaccines but I was very nervous about it. So far so good at 19w and I will book in the jab with the other ones for whooping cough etc.

Lostintranslatio · 30/12/2021 22:21

I had my booster at 12+6, just right after my 12 weeks scan. Only effects I felt the following day it was a bit of temperature that went away with paracetamol and the swollen underarm (that went away the following day).

TashieWoo · 30/12/2021 22:25

I had mine last week at 21 weeks, no problems and actually fewer side effects than when I had my second Pfizer jab in August (all mine have been Pfizer).

redandwhite1 · 30/12/2021 23:13

Had mine last week and am 31 weeks

Would rather have it than get Covid!!

AwkwardPaws27 · 30/12/2021 23:19

I had mine at 16 weeks. Sore arm and a bit more tired for 48 hours, now 18 weeks and absolutely fine.
I had my flu vaccine a few weeks before, and will be having my whooping cough vaccine in a couple of weeks too.

There is so much info on the risks of covid in pregnancy, but I couldn't find a single paper showing any vaccine risk.

ExpectingLady93 · 30/12/2021 23:24

Had my booster at 10 weeks- absolutely no problem. Had my 12 week scan today and all is well

Sarahloo88 · 31/12/2021 00:18

Had mine and my flu vaccine together in October and due I’m due in 4 weeks. No problems at all and no side effects really other than a sore arm for a day!

LeedleLee · 31/12/2021 10:55

Thanks all! Had my booster yesterday. Feel a bit drained and headachey today but don't know if that is the jab or pregnancy, and have a very sore arm. Aside from that I'm okay!

I had mine yesterday at 6+1 weeks. Honestly I feel pretty rotten today but if it's anything like previous covid jabs it won't last and I'd rather this than covid!

mozzer12 · 07/01/2022 20:25

Hi!

Had my booster yesterday, am 15 weeks tomorrow. Felt fine today, just a little more tired this evening xx

I’ve had the booster . I also have a doctor friend who took the vaccines whilst pregnant and she delivered a very healthy baby .

The amount of unvaccinated pregnant women in ICU -seen by my friend- with ventilators is extremely sad 😞 . Babies born very premature also being ventilated with improperly formed lungs etc .. It’s also good to take the vaccine as there’s a low vaccine uptake with pregnant women who most likely have kids at school. I feel more comfortable in the waiting areas for midwife appointments with all the pregnant ladies surrounding me after being boosted.

I definitely respect everyone’s decision whether to take the vaccine or not whilst pregnant. It can be a difficult decision although there’s a lot more information out there than last year .
