Cramps and brown blood

Hi everyone, I need some advice and guidance please. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and on Christmas Eve my partner and I had intercourse. Since then I have experienced dark brown discharge when I wipe. Since yesterday (27th) I've been having mild period like cramps and the discharge has turned into brown blood. I went to A&E today and all they did was offer me a blood test and kept me waiting 4 hours so I've booked a private scan to actually see if baby is okay. I'm beginning to feel terrified of going to the toilet in case I see more/worse blood. Why is pregnancy so worrying??

It’s so stressful but the brown blood is old blood leaving the body. It’s possible your cervix has been slightly irritated by having sex so that could explain it. Hope everything is okay for you xx

I have the same and it's because I have a low lying placenta which gets irritated easily (I am 33 weeks and in hospital now for the second time for bleeding!) the first time I bled was after intercourse like you but got told I wasn't allowed anymore because of my placenta. You might still be too early to do a scan to check where yours is but that may be the cause. Hope they find out quickly for you x

Thank you so much. I've booked in for another early reassurance scan tomorrow just to see if everything's okay. We had one at 8 weeks and everything was fine, so hopefully Baby will be okay xx

We had a scan today and found out that our baby has died. I'm still trying to process that I'm not having a baby anymore, or that doctors told me they weren't worried and everything was fine.
