Could this be the start of labour??

Hi!

Today is my due date so I am exactly 40 weeks pregnant. I have been having period like pains all day (mild but uncomfortable), on and off all day and all of last night. I have also been having tightenings, backache in my lower back and a pressure feeling when I'm up and about.

I haven't lost my mucus plug as of yet (that I've noticed anyway) but it definitely feels like there is something going on down there! This is my first so I'm not exactly sure what to expect!

Could this be the first stages of labour?

Thanks in advance Smile

You'll know for sure when contations start or water breaks 🙈 otherwise yea at 40 weeks of course moving towards labour x

Bells3032 · 28/12/2021 20:23

Sounds like the start of mine. Took about two days after that. Never noticeably lost my mucus plug

Aimee1987 · 28/12/2021 20:26

I felt like that from about 37 weeks. I was 2 cm dialated from around 39 weeks.

I was induced at 41 + 5 and ended up having an emergency section as he wouldn't budge.

Like @Somerandomgirl said you will know when its labour

Mine started like that but I was in early labour for 3 days

Hibye23289 · 28/12/2021 20:46

I went to bed with a pressure feeling near my coxxyc and went into labour at 2am and had baby at 09:37am. Good Luck Grin

Sounds like it! Go to bed and get a bit of sleep before it all kicks off!

Following..,vicariously after the fact. Both of mine medically necessary c-sections so always love the start of birth threads!

Sounds like it. Good luck, get some sleep.

Bells3032 · 30/12/2021 07:14

How you doing. Any movement

AnonymousXXIX · 30/12/2021 08:31

Curious too! Nothing here. Had fewer pains yesterday (but still some). Def still leaking something as well (very slow mucus plug?) but nothing obvious. I feel like my body is getting ready but nothing exciting has happened yet. Going for a long walk today!

PheeLou21 · 30/12/2021 08:45

@Bells3032 @AnonymousXXIX just more of the same here too I'm afraid!

I had some uncomfortable tidal wave like pains last night that seemed to be coming about 15 mins apart and lasting for 60 seconds or so. I was certain that it was happening and thought I'd get some sleep whilst I can, however I've woken up this morning and they're gone!! Typical!

Lots of walking, housework and bouncing on my ball for me today too. I think I need to get out of my head and accept it will happen when it's meant to happen!!
