This is my first pregnancy.

I'm 19 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I have felt no movements / flutters at all yet.

I'm starting to notice that I'm not really getting a bump. My partner noticed today that my stomach isn't really growing. Is this normal? I have heard that in your first pregnancy you tend to take longer to show if that's true or not.

Also to add , after finding out I have low pap a in this pregnancy i've been nothing but worrying twice as much! Pregnancy is such a nerve racking time :(

I just read all other peoples stories about people feeling movements from 16 weeks and also have a noticeable bump by that time just makes me compare and just worry :(

Just really looking for some advice if the no bump and no movements is normal for 19 nearly 20 weeks?

Thankyou lovelies💜

Do you have your 20 week scan scheduled soon? That’s probably going to be the thing that reassures you the most.
Do you know how the placenta is lying? It can be harder to feel movement if the placenta is on the front side of the uterus.
Baby bumps vary enormously. Some women don’t really look pregnant at all until 8-9 months in. Some women have a visible bump after 3 months.

Completely normal not to have a bump yet by that stage of first pregnancy.

Somerandomgirl · 28/12/2021 20:18

Even with second pg i only started feeling kicks at 20 weeks mark , give it some time and dont google everything. And very depends on your own figure and how baby is laying etc. Your scan is soon so think positive x

I know a few women who've not shown with their first pregnancy until past 20 weeks. Then all of a sudden a bump appears.

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 28/12/2021 22:17

My first and second pregnancy, I didn't feel any movement until 22 weeks.

Garman · 28/12/2021 22:19

I didn't show to anyone other than me and my closest people until 32 weeks on my first and second and 28 weeks on my third.

Hellooo, I feel your anxiety, I am 19 weeks and not feeling any movements yet … it’s so worrying. I was debating buying a home Doppler machine but decided against it. I have read a lot of people don’t feel it till 20 plus weeks so am trying not to worry . Roll on scan day xx

At six months my MIL told me I don't even look pregnant. Now at full term I look pregnant, but someone else told me my bump is very small for a pregnant woman!

However, my baby is measuring slightly ahead on scans, and the growth, organs and blood flow for baby and placenta are all great, all signs are very healthy and baby is moving a lot. My fundal height measurements are right on track and I'm considered a low risk pregnancy. I'm not particularly tall either, I guess this is just how my body carries this baby.

Rest assured, you don't have to have a big bump to have a healthy pregnancy.

I didnt have a bump until a little after the 20 week scan when it suddenly appeared one morning!
I also didnt feel anything until at least 20 weeks and even then i would easily convince myself it was trapped wind.
Everyone is different and carry babies differently.
The 20 week scan will reassure you im sure.

GreyGoose1980 · 28/12/2021 23:27

I have an anterior (front) placenta and the midwife told me it’s common not to feel anything up until 23 weeks. I knew I had this from an early private scan but it was also confirmed at my 20 week nhs scan.

dg93 · 28/12/2021 23:35

I've only just started looking obviously pregnant.. at 32 weeks! I had a small bump appear at 20 weeks, which grew each week but it's now only just noticeable!

I feel huge now 🥲

I have an anterior placenta, I started feeling movement around 24 weeks, but only started feeling daily movements at 26 weeks.

I've noticed if I lie on my right side I feel a lot more movements x

Some people do genuinely have a bump by that stage, others just want to have a bump so will breathe out in every photo until they do 😂 I have a picture from when I was 23 weeks and felt pregnant yet I have the tiniest little ridge in my belly, not even a ‘bump’. I felt no movement and then all of a sudden so much movement that my husband could feel it on the outside. Chances are you have felt flutters but not until you feel it for sure you’ll realise they were

123namey · 28/12/2021 23:40

I used to go in the bath and put the tap on while I was in it. I think the noise did something because he would go crazy every time. Anytime I wanted to check he was okay that’s what I did 😂 Now he does the exact same thing in the bath at 4 months

Ohisitreally · 28/12/2021 23:49

My daughter literally did not have a bump at 38 weeks!! She had an anterior placenta as well. She was scanned and monitored regularly because of lack of movement ..baby induced at 38 weeks…fantastic birth and baby appeared weighing 7 pounds X
