Has anyone done this and found it worth it?

Hi, I did this. I found part of the course really interesting and enjoyed learning about the science behind birth and the roles of different hormones, oxytocin etc some of it I do think has to be taken with a pinch of salt (one of the sort of mantras is that birth doesn’t have to be painful but I think most women would strongly disagree). The breathing techniques are great in theory but once I was in the throes of labour I couldn’t get in the right headspace to count my breathing I just ended up deep breathing in and out which came naturally to me anyway. I ended up c section though due to unexpected breech baby so maybe I didn’t get the full benefit. I would say if you’re particularly anxious about birth go for it as it does have lots of great information and there is a Facebook group you get access to with lots of positive birth stories to read.

Did hypnobirthing via bump to baby chapter. As the PP enjoyed all the science behind it and how hormones play a massive part. Agree it really depends on your pain threshold as Labour is not pain free but I found the breathing techniques and visualisations got me through as I was only given paracetamol and a tens machine. I didn't progress past 6cm though so didn't get to experience the latter stage as was induced and given an epidural since it was almost 24 hrs since my waters broke. I do think I would have managed though. Certainly worth a look if you are interested.
