Hi, I'm 32 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I'm concerned as I haven't experienced any braxton hicks!

Can you please tell me what yours felt like and when you started getting them?

I've not noticed my entire stomach go hard, usually only where baby is 👶

hi, I never felt them in either of my pg, so sorry I can't be of help.

hopefully someone else will be along to describe what they felt

I'm 32 weeks too. Haven't had any during this pregnancy and I didn't last time either. I don't think everyone gets them necessarily.

I'm 35 weeks and have been getting them for probably the last 10 weeks however this is my second pregnancy, I didn't get them at all when expecting DD and she is now a healthy 4 year old so don't worry it doesn't mean anything if you don't get them!

Sorry forgot to say how it feels! My tummy just goes very tight, I don't find it painful, just a bit uncomfortable.

I’ve been getting them (I think!)

They’re not painful at all. The way I’d describe them is they feel just like how your arm feels when you get your blood pressure checked with the little arm machine. Your stomach just tightens and tightens then just releases.

Anyone else feel it like that?

Lots of women get them and don't know they are getting them. I'm a midwife and often point out to women that they are having one when I do an abdo exam... they had no idea.

I never had any with first DC. Currently pregnant with second DC (31 weeks) and none yet.

I only had them after my waters broke and they didn't feel at all like what I expected. I was hooked up to a fetal monitor and the midwife asked me what I was feeling right then. I said hot and my belly felt hard. She said that was a Braxton hicks contraction. I thought they were supposed to feel like a period cramp. It wasn't oainful and I don't recall having any with my second either.

Tomlettegregg · 28/12/2021 06:07

I never felt them, I knew I was going into labour because I felt really bad period cramps coming in waves but nothing happened beforehand.

I'm 32 weeks I would only notice them a few times a day. Tummy goes into odd shape either more pointy in the middle or to one side and I feel period type pains then it passes and returns to bumps regular shape.

I had far more Braxton hicks with my twin pregnancy than with this current pregnancy.

I would agree as they may occur only a few times per day that you might easily miss them.

I'm 30+4 with no3 and never felt them in any pregnancy
