TMI photo, mucus plug and bloody show?

Hello everyone! I'm new to this website so bare with me. I'm looking for some advice. Last week on Sunday (37+6) I lost some of my mucus plug with pink tinge in it (first photo) and all through this week I have been losing big clumps of it without any blood or anything just normal yellow/clear plug. I have been having braxton hicks and also some more painful contractions at night every night that are timeable for a few hours but I always end up falling asleep and waking up still pregnant! 😩😂 anyway today (38+6) I lost more mucus plug but it had bright red in it, I'm wondering if this could be my bloody show?

I am really starting to get fed up with all of these signs as they are getting me excited then letting me down and making me feel so impatient!! 😂 what were your experiences after you lost your plug and bloody show? Did labour come soon? How far along were you?

I should also add that I am at 3cm dilated last Sunday and waters bulging when I got checked at triage last Sunday. Thanks in advance. X

I'd always get checked if you aren't sure.

My waters were popped at 3cm so I'd imagine you're close to giving birth very soon.

Once my waters were popped I went to 3-9cm in 1.5hrs! Sounds like your baby is very much ready! Good luck!

Thankyou for your reply! Honestly at this point im very fed up of getting checked and wasting hospital time. I've been in maybe 5 times over BH/contractions that always fizzle out by the time I get there (I live an hour and 30 mins from the hospital) and the last time I went in was because of the pink mucus and I was sent away and told it's normal. With my first I never had anything like this. I had him at 41+5 with no sign of labour before hand and I went into labour straight from a sweep!

Hi there,

Yes this looks like bloody show. I had a lot of it from 40 weeks after my first sweep. Unfortunately it wasn’t a sign of labour coming anytime soon as I was induced at 40+13. I was 5cm dilated though so they popped my waters and baby was here within 2 hours.

My water broke yesterday at 4pm! Currently in hospital 😃
