Spotting at 5+1

I guess I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance...

I'm 5+1 today, got my 3+ on a clear blue digital yesterday and still getting dye stealer FRER tests.

It's an IVF pregnancy so I'm on crinone gel which I take vaginally.

But this afternoon I noticed some brown discharge in my pantyliner (worn as the crinone can leak!). I've previously had a chemical pregnancy which started with brown spotting so I'm just a bit freaked out and panicking I'm heading down the same road.

My stomach feels a bit tender but don't think I have cramps.

Has anyone had experience of this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy? I'm not sure what to do as I don't know if a scan this early would show me anything.

I bled brown/pink/red from 5 weeks until 11 weeks in my last pregnancy. No cause was found and baby was safely born full term.

I sympathise - it's such a stressful time. You can have a scan at 6 weeks if you can try and hold on.

I had spotting from 5wks on and off to 9wks, all was ok and no cause was found, now have my 4 month old.

Keep positive!

Thank you both, praying it's just cervix irritation at the moment from the progesterone!

Pink and brown (once red) spotting every few days from the start until now - I'm week 14!
I've had 6 scans already as I'm so scared about the spotting - baby is growing as normal as is totally fine! No explanation for the spotting. They said you're super vascular when pregnant so blood vessels can pop causing spotting, hormonal shifts, loads of reasons. I've been spotting for so many weeks now that I'm getting used to the fact that I'm one of those women who will spot throughout pregnancy. It's SO common OP so don't worry. You can have an early pregnancy scan at 6 weeks anyway to ease your mind but I bet it's nothing xx

Thank you so much 🥰 it's so hard not to panic isn't it!

Lines are darker than ever this morning so going to keep an eye on jt and try and focus on the positives!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas x

I had light pink spotting for 3/5 weeks in very early pregnancy. I'm now 12 weeks and had no such symptom for weeks. I spoke to my midwife about it and it's very normal.

Tempusfudgeit · 29/12/2021 19:03

How are you doing, OP?

2021babyhope · 30/12/2021 13:26

@Tempusfudgeit spotting stopped the day after so keeping my fingers crossed 😊 have horrendous morning (all day) sickness now and a scan booked for the 11th Jan so just taking it day by day at the moment

I had spotting right up to week 20 with one DC. Cause never found and now a happy pre-teen! Didn’t happen with the next pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you OP.
