Yes! It's very annoying

I really enjoyed the catheter for both my births.

Have you had a midwife appointment recently where they’ve dipped your wee?

TooMinty · 26/12/2021 08:36

I remember getting up a couple of times but 10 seems like a lot, maybe mention it to your midwife just in case!

Have you asked someone (gp or midwife) to check for a uti?

I've had this throughout my pregnancy (although max 5 times not 10) and I'm now seeing someone who specialises in the pelvic floor area. If you don't have a medical reason for example get your urine checked for an infection, it may be more life style/tension. She told me to stop drinking anything after 9.30 in the evening. And I was aiming for 2.5 liters a day and she said 2 is fine. I also don't empty my bladder well enough because I have too much tension lower down. I now have to do deep breathing exercises (breathing into the stomach- 4 counts in- 8 out) - 10 minutes x 3 times a day. And every time I go to the toilet I have to do 2 minutes deep breathing after I have a wee. I don't do this everytime as I would never leave the toilet but if I can tell my wee is not big enough (a normal wee is about 200 ml) I do it and found that sometimes there is more. Also see if there is a position more comfortable on the toilet: stand, lean forward, raise your legs on a little stool. Normal toilet sitting is actually not natural for our bodies at all. Finally she is trying to encourage me to recognize when I actually have to go and when the bladder is just a bit irritated (not full). So if I feel the urge but I've just been and haven't drunk much- I deep breathe for 5 minutes. If you still need to go after this- then go- if not don't. I have been told that the deep breathing is also really good when you have to give birth. If you are using the toilet more than you actually need, you are overstimulating the bladder and create too much tension down there. Maybe these exercise are helpful for you as well- but you need to rule out medical reasons as well! Good luck!

I'm averaging probably between 6 - 8 times a night, and it's driving me crazy. Nothing shows when they dip my urine and was negative for diabetes, so I just assumed that it's the way it is! I go but hardly anything comes out, but I reckon the baby's foot just sits on my bladder (she is breech, and when she moves I can feel pressure in my bladder).
