Spontaneous labour after a C section?

Had a section with my first almost three years ago now as my induction failed. I was induced at term due to an unstable lie and too much amniotic fluid, which meant that she was just floating around and her head never went near my cervix to get things moving.
Anyway, currently 37 weeks with my second and this time, the baby is in a good position and my fluid levels are normal so I have been given the go ahead for a vbac, which is what I really want!
I'm just wondering if anyone never went into labour naturally with a first but then did with their second? I want to know what it feels like to go in to labour at home myself rather than booking a time and date with the hospital, but I'm worried it's not gonna happen for me!
I know nobody can tell me what my own body will do, but anecdotes are always fun to read Smile

Hi there, I've actually been through this twice!
My first was an elective section, second was a planned spontaneous Labour at 40wks with a forceps delivery, third was an elective section and fourth was another planned spontaneous Labour at 37wks and was the easiest birth!! Both labour's started with waters going....1st Labour I stayed at home until I couldn't cope anymore and 2nd Labour I had to go in straight away as technically was 36w7d so needed checking, but as I said, a very straight forward text book Labour and birth!

Hi there!

I had a planned section in 2016 with my first due to breech presentation at 41+1. Baby didn't even engage at all.

With my second I went into labour on the evening of 40+3. In the early evening my waters gradually started to go over a two hour period and at the same time contractions started. I stayed at home and went to the birth centre at 9.30am the next day and baby arrived at 2.20pm in the birth pool.

Everything went textbook- but it is very weird going into labour for the first time in a subsequent pregnancy. I would say my labour was the typical length for a first time natural birth as opposed to a 2nd baby.

Good luck!
