27 weeks - period-type pains. Any suggestions

Been having these intermittently for the last couple of weeks and starting to feel a bit concerned. I ended up seeing the midwife last week on an unrelated matter (fainting - low blood pressure apparently) - mentioned them and she gave me the full barrage of checks in case of early-onset labour, but all seemed fine ... They keep coming back though (exactly like period pains: low-down, draggy, unignorable) and I was just wondering if anyone else had had them/could suggest what they might be?

Owch.

hi! now im no medical expert so dont hold me to this but i know i had period type pains practically all the way through my pregnancy from day 1 and i now have a very active 18 month old son! maybe if you have had all the checks and alls ok,try not to worry about it? xxxxx

oh i remember now!!!...thew doc said it could be just the growing weight of tummy pulling down and stretching ligaments at bottom of stomach?xxx

We have been talking about these on the due in Feb thread and a few of us have them. I think it is all quite normal as long as you have no bleeding etc. I seem to get it more in the evening, esp when I have overeaten!

I"m 27 weeks too and have been having the same type of thing off and on - particularly in the evenings as others have said, and if standing or walking about for too long. Think it's just par for the course at this stage I'm afraid!!

hi! i dont think you have anything to worry about..i remember around about that stage the twinges and aches and pains! i was exactly the same though...always checking! i just put it down to the speed at which the baby is growing, it really pulls on your ligaments and makes you feel rather uncomfortable. hope all goes well for you!

I've had it all the way through too (i'm 20 weeks). It seems to have got worse today but I swear down, i went to bed with a fairly big bump and woke up this morning with a MAMMOTH bump, after baby had been fidgetting, kicking and somersaulting all night long.
