12 week scan tomorrow and so scared

I'm absolutely terrified and know I won't be able to sleep all night.

I've had previous MC and I just don't know how I'll cope. My heart is actually beating so fast just thinking about tomorrow.

I know this must have been the same feeling for many of us.

Any tips on how to CALM down?

I was the same as you when I was pregnant. I had private scans before my 12 week one, then more before my 20 week one. I was convinced every time that something would be wrong.
It’s a horrible feeling, the anxiety was really difficult to control.

I had googled it (obviously!) and read that every passing week reduced your chances of MC or similar happening. Every week that passes is a step closer to a healthy, happy baby.

At 12 weeks you have around a 1.7% chance of MC. Focus on that if you can.

For what it’s worth, my son is now 3 weeks old and I’m typing this in an awkward position as he’s sleeping on my arm.

Good luck for the scan tomorrow, try to get some rest.

Thank you Tree
I'm so glad it all worked out for you! :)

Hi @NinaTee, I have my 12 week scan tomorrow too. I've already had 2 scans (1 private, 1 ivf clinic) but I'm still so nervous! It's been 4 weeks and 2 days since my last scan which seems a long time. Fingers crossed for both of us 🤞🤞🤞❤

@Holskey ah good luck!! What time is yours? I'm at 10am so at least I don't have to wait around all day!

Currently trying to distract myself by reading but it's not working 🤪

@NinaTee oh no, mine is at 3 😕 You might as well go to bed and when you wake up it will almost be time! 🙂 I'm literally sat on mumsnet pregnancy forum whilst I'm supposed to be wrapping presents, so I've definitely not managed distraction! 😂

Aghhh try to have the longest lie in possible haha.

🤞 🤞🤞 for us both!
