Fluid leak?

Thanks in advance for reading this...

So I know the obvious answer is to phone up but I get so anxious about phoning up in case it turns out to be a waste of time. So please offer me advice and reassurance 🙂

This is actually my 4th pregnancy and I'm 16 weeks. I feel constantly "damp" to the point I'm now wearing a pad. I'm not sure it is water from the sac and is more likely to be discharge but its so much like water that it makes me think its urine over discharge but also does not smell like wee. In fact it's pretty odourless I'd say. Gross I know I'm so embarrassed to be even writing this!!! So I've just been and emptied my bladder, put a new pad in and walked downstairs and I feel damp already. Could it actually be leaking waters this early on? TIA

I would get it checked out. Do you have any urine incontinence issues. I had my urine leaked when i was 38 weeks pregnant with my third child and i honestly thought its fluid and happened on few occasions .

Thank you. Did you get checked out at 38 weeks? I've never had issues with leaking urine before surprisingly, given I've had 3 kids already!

Yes i went to triage and after checking everything they told me its urine for sure. But it was nightmare as i had to have some sort of antibiotics after water broken. So i had to have three to four trips to Triage on that issue. luckily they induced me shortly after.

Or it could be increased vaginal discharge in your situation?

That's what I was wondering but should it be that watery?

It cant be that watery but it can certainly give you damp feeling. When did you notice it ?

I've had like normal white thick discharge but over the last 2 days it's been less dischargey and more watery. Yesterday I started wearing a pad.

Yes it can be fluid leaking. My waters started leaking at 16 weeks, there was hardly any amniotic fluid around my baby, I was kept in hospital for most of the pregnancy then went into labour at 28 weeks which they managed to stop then went onto having an emergency section at 30 weeks. This was all 39 years ago!

I would ring in your situation. Better to have peace of mind and be wrong than not call when you needed to.

This happened to my sister
The fluid was leaking at 18 weeks. She had a scan and had to stay in hospital in bed lying down for weeks. She went home at 26 weeks but had to stay in bed at home. She gave birth at 34 weeks and a dry labour as fluid had gone. Go seek medical advise urgently.

Thank you all. Another fear of mine is having to spend weeks in hospital. I had to be in hospital last time for a few weeks due to having heavy bleeds.

@Robbo1010 Let me know how you get on. I basically have an identical problem, including a fear of wasting their time. I'm 34+5 and have had this for about a week, but I've not had it checked out as just two weeks ago I was there with what I thought at the time was my waters breaking (I actually think now that the bed was just damp from a hair towel, so I am mortally embarrassed about it). But since then I've had damp underwear and not much discharge. As they just checked me out, I feel silly about going back!

So I went in and got checked. Got some infection which is being treated now and I have to stay in for a few hours and have a scan to check fluid levels. They think my mucous plug came out and may have brought some water with it but if levels are OK on scan they will monitor me. They say that the mucous plug should regenerate but will need close monitoring going forward. Glad I went in. Thanks all.

Good to hear all is well. Please dont think about wasting hospital s time etc , they are there to help you. Always get it checked to be on safe side. I had the same guilt. But think from baby s perspective always. Wishing you all the best
