Hi, im currently 5 weeks and I have my first screening appointment at 8+2. I've read that they take blood and urine samples, I read that sometimes they do an ultrasound my partner doesn't want to miss anything is it worth him taking time off work and do they actually do an ultrasound?

Unless you've been experiencing things like bleeding then you definitely won't get an ultrasound at your booking appointment. If you've had certain problems or mc's with any previous pregnancies you'd get an early scan but very unlikely they'd just do it there and then at your booking.
