Hello everyone! I am 6 weeks pregnant and am choosing where to book.
I was wondering if anyone had any recent experience of giving birth at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, Princess Royal in Haywards Heath or Worthing Hospital?
Thanks x

I would personally choose Worthing or Princess royal. I’ve had one DC in Brighton and it wasn’t the best experience! This time round I’ve chosen Worthing and so far much better

Hello @Purpletrees2 ! Can I ask what was so bad about Brighton and how Worthing has been better? (First pregnancy here!)

Hey 👋🏼

I will be giving birth at Worthing - I also gave birth there with my DD (nearly 10 years ago..) however, I am slightly concerned over recent news reports re. Worthing/St Richards and Brighton.... however my last experience of Worthing was good. Community midwife this time not the best / most responsive etc..

My two were born in Brighton, some time ago now, but I found the care good, I don’t this I would have made it to Hayward’s Heath with DS2, that’s for sure. I only ever hear bad things about Worthing Hospital generally, but not about midwifery. Congrats OP do what’s right for you, what is your closest unit? DH driving me to hospital in rush hour with DS1 the closest was definitely the best option for me!

I've given birth at Worthing in 2016 and lastly in June 2021
I can't fault the maternity unit. My experience was good
