I've just been bought the big canvas tote bag from Avery Row for a gift. It's massive and brilliant as I'm going to use it as a hospital bag too (packed today)
You can get changing Mat and separate bag, in the material that matches the lining of the main bag too, to go inside it.

Just use a normal overnight bag and/or rucksack.

Baby and I were in for just over a week. I went in with just a rucksack and my handbag (fully expecting to be sent home - the rucksack was with us just in case).

Once I’d had the baby and we realised we’d be in a while DH brought in a weekend bag full of stuff for us and then used a small rucksack to bring stuff to and fro (washing, extra consumables like snacks, nappies and maternity pads). Under more normal circumstances the rucksack would have been ample.

This packing method does rely on you having someone who can be trusted to either make sensible choices on what to bring or who will follow instructions precisely.

Overnight bag each.
I was in 2.5 days and didn't need any extra.

I just used a small suitcase and the changing bag
