Undiagnosed GD

Has anybody been undiagnosed with GD and baby has been ok?

I was very very borderline with my first. I think I was literally 0.1 under the threshold or something, but my urine always had glucose in and my gut just told me I had it!
Baby was absolutely fine though, 8lb 2oz, was evicted at 41+6 as too comfy in there!

Have you had the glucose test?

Yes, baby was born at 41+2 and weighed 9lb 14oz. Midwives told me after he was born that they were almost certain I had gestational diabetes which hadn't been picked up on.
Other than being big and having quite a tough labour, baby was absolutely fine.

I was diagnosed at 36 weeks and 6 days, and DC was born at 38 weeks and 4 days so wasn't diagnosed for very long. DC had been identified as huge by ultrasound but was actually 75th centile so OK. I was OK controlling by diet once I knew about it although did have to tightly manage carbs to do that. I got the impression that the main things they were worrying about with me being diagnosed so late were baby's size and then post birth whether he would have trouble managing his blood sugar levels initially.
