Hi,

I’m currently 35 wks and Covid positive. I just wanted to see if anyone else is going through the same thing?
I was hospitalised with a significant bleed last week which is where I also found out I had Covid. I had steroids in case of pre term labour and now on blood thinners due to Covid.
It’s quite scary and I can’t really talk to anyone irl about how I’m feeling. Just wanting to share the load really xx

Hi,
I’ve not experienced this, just wanted to say I hope you are ok. How are you feeling? I’m presuming you have no symptoms if you only found out whilst you were in hospital.
Take care , rest up as much as possible and try not to worry.

Onehotmess · 17/12/2021 23:45

Thanks for your reply x I do now have symptoms, tested positive on 12th and symptoms started on 14th. Developed into what I would describe as mild flu. I’m exhausted, coughing a bit. sneezing & stuffy nose. When I cough or sneeze I get sharp pains in my lower abdomen which worries me but midwife says it’s ok!

I'm 27 weeks with Covid. Day 4 of symptoms and I'm pretty miserable. Fatigue, headache, cough, congested, sore throat. Baby is kicking away seemingly quite happy! I'm not on any specific medication for it, midwife just said usual at home cold remedies and paracetamol. Shitty timing in the run up to Christmas though isnt it?

SouthwestSis · 18/12/2021 10:26

Hopefully you'll both be OK as long as you've had at least a couple of vaccines!
Fingers crossed for you both, and sending get well soon vibes. Try and keep as active as possible around the house @Orarewedancer and drink plenty of fluids.

PartridgeCoop · 18/12/2021 10:53

I'll join too. 23 weeks and tested positive this week. Feeling snotty and achy - no specific advice for me except lots of fluids and paracetamol. Hope Santa has had his booster!!

Clarkey86 · 18/12/2021 11:07

I had it a week ago at 36 weeks. Mild cold symptoms, perfectly fine after a few days. Are you vaccinated?

I’m also on blood thinners as precaution and they’ve been great and checking in on me (I was also sent for a growth scan). You’ll be absolutely fine lovely, try not to stress.

Onehotmess · 18/12/2021 11:29

@Orarewedancer bless you it’s awful timing isn’t it! We are out of isolation on 23rd so cut it very fine! I’m hoping all symptoms will be gone by then too! X

@SouthwestSis thank you ☺️ I’ve had 2 vaccines. (Didn’t want this to become a vaccine thread which is why I didn’t mention it in OP) thank you for the positive vibes 🥰 x

@PartridgeCoop, hopefully at 27 weeks you’ll not have to take any preventive measures. I think they worry about blood clots in the last few weeks. Hope it doesn’t affect your Christmas if you had plans x

I wasn't as far along as you but I have had covid in pregnancy. I wouldn't have known had I not tested (and I was unvaccinated), I only tested as a colleague I'd been working with did. I know it's hard not to worry but the vast majority really are OK Smile

zonedoutallnight · 18/12/2021 11:34

I'm almost 34 weeks and my dd has tested positive. We are testing with lft every day and hoping to stay clear but it's a worrying time for sure. I'm due my booster vaccine on Tuesday so hoping to still be able to have it.

Onehotmess · 18/12/2021 11:35

@Clarkey86 looks like we are in a similar situation then! I’m officially on the ‘virtual Covid ward’ so I get calls 3 x a week from the hospital and some from midwife too. I’ve also found they have been a great support & very reassuring, I just get in my own head about things and after the bleed I was just scared to move! Not long to go for you now! What’s your due date? X

I had Covid at 30 weeks pregnant. I'm double vaccinated, thankfully I only had mild symptoms. Had a privet scan after and 2 growth scan since, the baby is growing nicely and healthy (37 weeks now). I know it is scary, but Covid won't effect your baby. Keep an eye on movement and your oxygen level (you can get cheap oximeter from Amazon. It really helped me with my anxiety during Covid)

jolota · 18/12/2021 11:58

Sorry to hear about everyone's experiences though it all seems relatively positive in the sense of mild symptoms at least.
My husband has also just tested positive on a lateral flow but we were both negative earlier in the week.
Due my booster on Christmas Eve so really hoping we can still have it then as it's been 5 months since our second vaccine.
Waiting on PCRs to confirm results but my husbands isolating in the spare bedroom/his office which has its own bathroom. Think he's enjoying himself a bit too much given the situation as I'm deep cleaning the rest of the house Hmm
Hope everyone stays safe & relatively well

BinkyRidesForth · 18/12/2021 13:38

I just tested positive as well… 36 weeks. Hoping I don’t get anything more than the cold symptoms I currently have, and that baby stays put until I’m out of isolation. Had my booster this week before testing positive, absolutely gutted. Reassuring to see some comments from those that have had it at a similar stage and been fine though!

YorkshireSunshine · 19/12/2021 18:25

30 weeks and tested positive on 17th - started with a mild cold but was shocked that it was Covid! Feeling a little rough as the weekend is going on. I’ve had 2 vaccines but was supposed to have my booster today Confused
Sorry to hear you are all in similar positions!!

RachelH97 · 20/12/2021 21:26

I’m 12 weeks today and tested positive yesterday. Got onto midwife who prescribed blood thinning injections for 4 weeks you’ll never guess what happened!! Get another text tonight saying my swab was unclear. Not sure if they’ve made a false positive or just mixed me up with someone else. But very frustrating!! Midwife told me it’s not ideal but don’t start injections until I get another positive so thank god I didn’t start them just incase!

I do have a flu though, abit chesty stuffed nose and sore throat. In isolation until the day after Christmas but it is what it is! 😂

CharWils · 26/12/2021 00:03

Hi all, I'm just under 22 weeks and have just tested positive. Am terrified as my son was stillborn unexpectedly for no reason at 28 weeks in April. Have been reassured by midwife I shouldn't be worried as had booster 9 days ago and currently have mild flu like symptoms. Doesn't help that I can't feel her yet due to anterior placenta either! Hope everything is okay xx

Kathfrances · 26/12/2021 02:50

@Onehotmess I feel the same although I’m early on. I’m 14 weeks and just tested positive. I have to start taking the blood thinning injections also which is worrying in itself. This is the first time I’ve been pregnant and I’m very worried too. Hope you are okay.

Imanta · 26/12/2021 11:07

Hi All,
I hope you don't mind if I join :)

30 weeks and tested positive yesterday. I've got cough and headache. Still got my sense of teste and smell which is a bonus because I've got to much food left from Christmas 🎄

I also got a little boy who just turned one and he is obviously not vaccinated because too little. He is okay so far but I am worried that he will catch it.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 26/12/2021 11:07

I currently have it too. I wonder why some of us are prescribed blood thinning injections and others aren’t? My midwife just said to keep hydrated and keep an eye on movement.

So far I don’t feel too awful, just like I’ve got a cold. My 4 year old has it at the moment too (caught it from him) but he was very unwell for a day and then completely fine. So far I seem to have it much milder than he did but lasting longer. Am triple vaccinated so hoping that will prevent me from getting any worse. I’m 21 weeks and so far baby seems just as active as normal.

closingtime101 · 27/12/2021 13:21

I’m only 8 weeks pregnant but just tested positive. Triple jabbed, but still feel quite lousy. Hope everyone on here is ok xx

spierse · 30/12/2021 21:36

5 weeks pregnant and tested positive today, just worried as they say fever in early pregnancy can cause birth defects, temperature has just started to increase but is only 37.6 so far have taken paracetamol. I was already on low dose heparin as I have had multiple losses and have APS

Rosiiiiie · 13/01/2022 13:09

Old thread but just wanted to see how everyone got on?

Am 34 weeks and positive. Feeling absolutely dreadful and was having very mild contractions last week which stopped thankfully. No one has spoken to me about blood thinners? I was on them during the first trimester because of IVF.

I guess I’m just needing reassurance because I’m just an emotional mess at the moment and stressing out like crazy! I couldn’t attend my normal appt this week and hospital said they’d move me to the covid clinic but haven’t heard since 🙁

I asked my midwife about the blood thinners (31wks pregnant and had Covid a couple of weeks ago) and she said they only give them to people who are at high risk (high BMI and age).

So they said I was low risk. I would suggest getting an oximeter, BP machine and thermometer.

They told me if oxygen levels went below 96 I should call 111 and if my temperature went above 37.6 or something then I should too.

I haven't read the whole post but if you haven't yet, let your GP and midwife know as they will have someone monitoring you every few days to check your symptoms.
