Ok, has anyone else had this issue. I found out I was pregnant on 30.11.21 with my first baby and did the self refer online. I think I am about 12 - 13 weeks pregnant.

I literally heard nothing so I called Maternity on 13.12.21 - they sent me a link for an app called Badger notes and I have done everything they said I needed to do and I have still not heard anything so no scan booked in or anything.

Is this totally normal or should I be chasing a bit more?

This is ridiculous. You need to call and get a scan booked ASAP or book yourself a private scan and pay.

If you want to have the combined NHS screening the cut off for this is something like 13+6. I would probably phone maternity reception again and explain that you’re 12-13 weeks by your estimations and see if they can fit you in for a scan.

I would keep chasing op. They should be getting back to you quicker then that. There are certain tests and things they should be offering you around this time.

I am 10 weeks today and let my GP know 3 weeks ago, they said a midwife would ring me back , which she did do. I thought that would be my booking in appointment but thats not been booked till next week when I will be nearly 11 weeks. They didn't have any appointments at my usual doctors surgery, so she arranged one at another clinic. The MW explained it is very busy before xmas because of all the bank hols etc.

Ah ok - well yes I didn't know if I should be more patient or this was really bad in my area.

Thank you for your response xx

"I am 10 weeks today and let my GP know 3 weeks ago"

I did ring my GP but they said they can't help me or refer me to anyone and I just have to deal with it.

Thank you for all the responses, I will chase them up again x

I think that because you found out late and only did the referral just over 2 weeks ago it may be helpful to call again and see if you can get anywhere 😊

I self referred at 4 weeks and didn't hear anything until almost 5 weeks later but given that you're further along I'd give them a call and say you've completed the notes and whats the next step.

My hospital also uses Badger Notes and sometimes appointments and scans just appear on the appointments tab without any notifications - you don't always get a letter or phone call either so make sure you're checking because something might suddenly appear there.

What hospital are you booking with? Google 'your hospital's name- antenatal referral', fill in the form again, there should be a number to contact too and chase!
