Last night I was laid on the bed and dh said something to make me laugh. As I did I felt a really sharp twingey pain down the right hand side of my bump (21 weeks). It lasted for about 30 seconds then I was fine. I felt baby moving last night but what could this have been? It was quite intense at the time.

I have low lying placenta and wondering if it could be anything to do with that? Or are random pains just part and parcel of pregnancy at this stage?

Round ligament pain? Normally felt in 2nd trimester and can be like a stabbing burning sensation?

I never had braxton hicks but could it be that?

Any concerns or if it keeps happening I'd contact midwife for advice.

Yes it was very much like a burning sensation, short lived but intense and seemed to be brought on by laughing suddenly. I've had similar from sneezing but not that strong.

If you had it from sneezing it sounds like round ligament pain. Super common and completely normal!

Round ligament pain probably - completely normal, just your ligaments complaining as your bump stretches them out! Smile

Yep round ligament pain
