Hey,

This is my first pregnancy and I’m absolutely exhausted all the time!😭

The morning sickness started yesterday which is a killer!

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help with the tiredness?

It also doesn’t help I work looong days 12.5 hour shifts! I’m hoping this tiredness shifts as I move into the next trimester!

Ah i remember this stage both times, literally napping during the day after like 10 hours sleep! Honestly, once you get to about 14/15 weeks you go back to normal! Something to do with the placenta taking over and you go back to normal just like that!

It will get better! It's so awful though, nothing helped me at all. 1st pregnancy I also worked long busy shifts and it at least took my mind off it 🙈
2nd time, I was a stay at home Mum with a 3 year old during last winter lockdown and we watched a lot of films while I napped on the sofa and did a lot of colouring while I lay my head down on table becuase it was too heavy to hold up haha! Felt better around 14 weeks and then the breathlessness started around 24 weeks. Pregnancy is wonderful 🤣 I actually felt so relieved to not be pregnant anymore this time that my csection recovery felt like a breeze in comparison!!!!

I remember this. Nap when you can. Eat lentils, fruit cheese and green veg! Enjoy Thanks

I remember feeling really exhausted in my first trimester just completely out of it, in my first pregnancy I would nap loads in my second pregnancy I had a toddler so I was awake but very exhausted like someone mentioned I'd put movies on for my child every afternoon and I'd just snooze as I had no energy.
Second trimester did bring sudden relief and a sudden burst of energy felt amazing to get that boost back. So hopefully itl get better for u! It isn't easy day in day out feeling tired. Take Time off work if u feel u need to it can be counted as pregnancy sickness.

The tiredness makes the sickness work. If you can do fewer hours or take a day a week holiday and just rest, do it. It should improve a lot in 3-4 weeks

Worse not work!

RedRobin100 · 16/12/2021 05:59

Yeah it’s grim OP - but it passes!
Nap when you can and eat well.
I used to cat nap at my desk for short bursts.
It passes in the second tri (hopefully) so hang in there!

I’m 7 weeks and feel like I’ve been hit by a bus with exhaustion and sickness. I was so ill yesterday and couldn’t get out of bed that I had to call into work sick.

The last few days I’ve also been having a nap on my lunch break as I’m fortunately working from home again. However, I’m still falling asleep on the sofa by 8.30! So I don’t know how I could possibly sleep any more!

Because of my sickness, I’ve not eaten well which I don’t think is helping the exhaustion so starting from this morning, I’m having a smoothie for breakfast with loads of spinach and fruit. Don’t know if it will help but it’s seemed to stop the sickness so far 🤞🏽.
